Delhi Metro’s Mundka-Bahadurgarh Green Line to start operation soon

The 11.18-km-long section will be the extension of Mundka-Kirti Nagar/Inderlok Green Line which was started in two phases in 2010 and 2011.

The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety has given its nod for start of passenger operations on the Green Line’s Mundka-Bahadurgarh corridor, the Delhi Metro Rail Corp (DMRC) said on Friday.
The 11.18-km-long section will be the extension of Mundka-Kirti Nagar/Inderlok Green Line which was started in two phases in 2010 and 2011.
“The exact date of opening of this corridor will be intimated after compliance of the same by DMRC,” the transporter said in a statement.
The corridor will have seven elevated stations in total, of which four will be in Delhi and three in Haryana. These will be Mundka industrial Area, Ghevra, Tikri Kalan, Tikri Border (Delhi) and Modern Industrial Estate, Bus Stand, and City Park (Haryana).
This will be the third metro route on entire network to give access to Haryana to the commuters. Violet and Blue are two other lines which are extended to the neighbouring state and go up to Faridabad and Gurugram respectively.
After the completion of this corridor, the entire Inderlok- Bahadurgarh section will become 26.33 km long.

Rates for four wheeler first 1 hour 20/- then after 10/- per hour.

Night charges Extra. Monthly charges will also increasing.

Delhi Metro launches free Wi-Fi on all Blue Line stations

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) today launched ‘High speed Free Wi-Fi’ facilitiy at Metro stations on its Blue Line i.e, Line-3/4 (Dwarka Sec-21 to Noida City Centre/Vaishali). DMRC’s Managing Director, Dr. Mangu Singh formally launched the facility from the Rajiv Chowk Metro station. 

The facility titled “Oui DMRC Free Wi-Fi” will be available on all 50 stations of the Blue Line. A person will be able to log in simply by searching for Wi-Fi options and log into “Oui DMRC Free Wi-Fi” after doing a onetime registration through their mobile phones. With this facility, passengers will be able to use all standard internet applications inside the station premises like email, Face book, Google, video chat as well as live streaming of cricket and football matches etc.

For providing this free wifi facility, DMRC has tied up with a consortium led by M/s Techno Sat Comm which is already providing the same facility on all six Metro stations of the Airport Express Line from October 2016 and also running India’s first Wi-Fi on train service on the Delhi-Howrah Rajdhani Express. The facility will use the globally acclaimed "T-Track 2.0 Wave 2 Solution", also used on high speed trains worldwide.

DMRC aims at launching “Oui DMRC Free Wi-Fi” on all operational Metro stations and trains in a phased manner. It is expected that in another 6-9 months’ time, the same facility will be made available on all stations of Yellow Line (Line-2 i.e, HUDA City Centre to Samaypur Badli) and inside trains of Airport Line.

Delhi Metro's ITO-Kashmere Gate to open on Sunday 28-May-2017

The formal launch of the 5.17 km-long ITO-Kashmere Gate Part of the Phase-3 of Delhi Metro is schedule for coming Sunday i.e. 28-May-2017, Urban Development Minster Venkaiah Naidu and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will inaugurate the metro link on Sunday. After its inauguration in the morning, the Heritage Line (ITO-Kashmere Gate) will be opened for public from 12 pm, said Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) spokesperson Anuj Dayal.

This underground section will consist of four stations - Delhi Gate, Jama Masjid, Lal Quila (Red Fort), and Kashmere Gate. the Heritage Line will join the ITO metro station on Violet line and Kashmere gate, the interchange for Red and Yellow metro lines.

Kashmere Gate will become the first intersection of three metro lines in Delhi after its inauguration, with passengers coming from Samaipur Badli-HUDA City Centre route (Yellow Line), Rithala-Dilshad Garden route (Red Line) and Faridabad Line (Violet Line).

The most crowded station of Delhi Metro network Rajeev Chowk, the interchange for Blue Line and Yellow Line will get some relief from crowd by this Heritage line. Opening of ITO-Kashmere Gate line will help people of Delhi-NCR to reach places like Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Delhi Gate, Daryaganj, Matia Masjid and parts of Chandni Chowk.
