Delhi by Metro, Guidebook on Delhi Metro Launched by DMRC

‘Delhi by Metro’, a comprehensive Guide Book on Delhi Metro was launched at the Metro Museum, Patel Chowk today by DMRC’s Managing Director, Sh. Mangu Singh.

The guide book published by Times Group Books, in association with Delhi Metro, carries in details information about the various tourist landmarks, eateries, markets around the national capital’s Metro stations.

Apart from the Souvenir Shop of the Metro Museum, the books will be available at the Customer Care Centres of the Kashmere Gate, Chandni Chowk, New Delhi, Rajiv Chowk, Khan Market, IGI Airport, Vishwa Vidyalaya, INA, HUDA city Centre, Nehru Place and Qutab Minar Metro stations

delhi metro doubles smart card minimum add value

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said it would introduce some changes in its smart card add value and refund rules from 21st May, 2014.

The minimum add value of Delhi Metro smart cards has been doubled to Rs. 200.

This will help the commuters as they won’t have to stand in queue & recharge their cards time and again.

According to Delhi Metro, a new smart card will cost Rs. 150, including Rs. 50 as refundable security deposit

In case of web top-up, minimum add value amount will be Rs. 100/- and multiple of Rs. 50/- i.e. Rs. 100,150,200,250…… Up to 1000/-).

To streamlining the refund system the administration charges for the refund of smart cards will be revised from Rs 5/- to Rs20/-

Delhi Metro commuters who use smart cards avail a discount of 10 per cent on their journeys.

Free Wi-Fi on Rapid Metro

Rapid MetroRail commuters in Gurgaon will have access to free Wi-Fi services on all trains running on the 5.1-km long six-station corridor starting Wednesday. MTS to Provide Free Wi-Fi on Rapid MetroRail.

MTS will also provide free Wi-Fi access on four stations including Sikanderpur, IndusInd Bank Cyber City, Phase 2 and Micromax Moulsari Avenue.

MTS has set up five kiosks on four Rapid Metro stations where commuters can procure Wi-Fi coupons and get access details. The service, which the company says will be experienced by 30,000 daily commuters, will remain free for six months.

The Times Group Books, a publishing arm of The Times of India has come out with a guide, 'Delhi by Metro' in association with DMRC. The book, which will be available from next week, is a snapshot of the city, said Mangu Singh, managing director of DMRC while releasing the first edition.

Delhi Metro videos on etiquette, safety

Delhi Metro uploaded a series of short public awareness videos on the YouTube to spread awareness about various issues for a safe journey, etiquette and convenience of the commuters. The videos deal with topics like safe boarding and deboarding the trains, commuter behaviour and security awareness.They have been made in a humorous way with attractive titles such as Lallan Khilawan, Mr. Sahi and Mr. Galat and Kimti Lal, so that the viewers also get entertained while getting vital information.
